Specialized
Specialized was founded in 1974 by Mike Sinyard, and initially produced the Allez racing and Sequoia touring bicycle bicycles. In 1981, the company introduced the first mass-produced mountain bike, the Stumpjumper.
Today, the company produces a variety of gear, including clothing, helmets, and parts, in addition to over 25 lines of bikes. They range from cheaper models such as the Hardrock, P series and the children's Hotrock up to the expensive S-Works models for road and cross-country riding; and the Demo for freeride and downhill mountain biking.
For the 2009 downhill season Specialized was able to bring Sam Hill on board. Sam went on to win the overall championship on their Demo. More championships are soon to follow with more and more pros are moving to pick up on the Demo designed by Specialized.
